This week, the names of 500 winners of the second competition for the appointment of the scholarship of the President of Russia for graduate students and adjuncts became known. The monthly scholarship is 75,000 rubles, and it is awarded for a period of 1 to 4 years.

“Congratulations to the graduate students and adjuncts who won the competitive selection. The Scholarship of the President of Russia is being awarded for the second time, and it is awarded to the most deserving people – those who advance the field of research and development and help fulfill the national goal set by the head of state – technological leadership. We are proud and appreciate your contribution to the scientific development of our country!” said Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia.

The research of scholarship applicants should be based on the priorities defined by the Strategy of Scientific and Technological Development of the Russian Federation, approved by the President of the Russian Federation on February 28, 2024.

“The Presidential Scholarship is awarded to talented young researchers who have to solve large-scale tasks. We are talking about creating technologies and products that will surpass their foreign counterparts and ensure our country's technological leadership in key and promising areas. For this, our fellows have the main thing – talent, knowledge, audacity, as well as the support of mentors and the state,” said Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia.

Candidates for such support were nominated by their academic supervisors. In total, the competition received more than 4.6 thousand applications from 73 regions of Russia. The winners were representatives of all federal districts, including 2 graduate students from new regions.

Artyom Mukhin, postgraduate student at the Institute of Computer Science and Cybernetics of Samara University, became the winner of the federal competitive selection. He is studying under the educational program “Mathematical and software support of computing systems, complexes and computer networks.” His supervisor is Alexander Kupriyanov, Professor, Director of the Institute of Informatics and Cybernetics at Samara University.

“My research interests include software development in the field of spectral imaging. Spectral images are used in a wide variety of fields, such as the agro-industrial complex, for example, to analyze soil conditions, in medicine, to diagnose various diseases, and in industrial production. I am working on a universal system that allows the use of spectral image analysis in any applied and scientific research fields,” said Artem Mukhin.
