On May 18, Samara University hosted the final Doors Open Day for the 2024–2025 academic year, which brought together students, applicants, their parents and teachers.
The Doors Open Day started in the arena of Samara University. Here, future applicants were offered consultations with teachers, students and representatives of major enterprises of the region, as well as a rich educational program.
From 10:00 to 13:00, guests could visit the exhibition of institutes and faculties in the manege. The students and their parents learned about the specifics of individual educational programs, entrance tests and employment prospects, and met with university teachers and students.
Representatives of the leading enterprises of the region attracted special attention of the participants of the Doors Open Day: UEC-Kuznetsov PJSC, RCC Progress JSC, Aviakor – Samara Aviation Plant, Samara Stroyfarfor LLC, Sberbank PJSC, TBank JSC, Salyut JSC and AVTOVAZ JSC – they shared information about targeted training opportunities and career prospects.
In the interactive zones, student associations such as the Krylia consolidated student detachment, the Cosmic Gradient Youth Aerospace Instrument Engineering Club, the Galaktika Student Sports Club, the Pomoshch Student Volunteer Center, the Kontur Electronics Lovers Club, the Vitruvian Modern Sword Fighting and Historical Medieval Combat Club, and the Primary Branch of the RDDM “The Movement of the First,” the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov, offered applicants practical tasks, quizzes, and master classes.
The second part of the Doors Open Day program was held in the assembly hall. It opened with a welcome address to the applicants and their parents by Andrey Gavrilov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs at Samara University. The Vice-Rector spoke about the great opportunities offered by the leading university of the region and the country to its students.
At 11:30, the head of the university's admissions committee, Sergey Goryainov, held a conversation about higher education: he talked about the features of the admission campaign in 2025, passing grades, popular destinations and the number of budget places, and also answered the question “Why do we need a university?”.
At 12:30, the lecture block started in the following areas: technical, IT, humanitarian, economic, natural science, and legal. Each institute has prepared lectures in various formats, one of them is 15x4, where in 15 minutes the speaker spoke briefly and succinctly about his topic. For example, at the “Clean-up in Orbit” lecture, the children learned about what space debris is, how dangerous it is, and how it can be cleared from orbit. At the lecture “The Keys to success: how to develop the skills of the future” students got acquainted with the key skills that are necessary for successful study, career and life in the 21st century.
“The Doors Open Day gathers a large number of students interested in admission. Many of them confidently answer that they plan to enroll in Samara University. The event allows you to get acquainted with the activities of the university, learn about the admission rules, targeted training and the possibility of obtaining additional points. It is also worth noting that interest in technical, legal and IT fields of study is increasing from year to year, which are represented in large numbers at our University,” said Sergey Goryainov.
Big Doors Open Day of Samara University completed a series of events at faculties and institutes, summed up the results of career guidance in 2025, and helped students and applicants to finalize their plans for admission and build a career trajectory. On this day, the university's arena was visited by more than two thousand applicants.
