Samara National Research University is the only University in the region included in the rating of domestic universities, according to Forbes. In 2024, the University ranks 34th in the rating list. In total, 547 universities in the country participated in the survey.
The leaders of the rating were Lomonosov Moscow State University (89.59 points), HSE (83.5 points), MIPT (74.54 points), St. Petersburg State University (62.56 points) and Bauman Moscow State Technical University (55.12 points).
For the first time, Samara University was included in the rating list in 2018. The last time the rating was released in 2022, and Samara University was ranked 74th in it.
Universities were evaluated by five metrics: quality of networking, reputation of employers, quality of teaching, international reputation and the Forbes factor (if among the graduates of the university there were participants in the Russian Forbes list, the university could receive additional points).
Many graduates of the University have achieved success and hold high positions in political structures, head large enterprises in various industries, banks, and are also founders of technology startups, which services are used in Europe, America and Asia.

- Yuri Belonoshchenko, the founder of the federal network of development centers “Baby Club”. Head of the “Uralsib” Management Company (2012–2014).
- Mikhail Degtyarev, a politician. Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sports, Tourism and Youth Affairs (2016–2020), Governor of the Khabarovsk Krai (2021–2024).
