Most of the teams in the laboratories are young researchers under the age of 39. The laboratories include graduate students, research engineers, researchers, undergraduates and university graduates. The key results of the laboratories' activities are aimed at the rapid transition of research results to the stage of practical application in accordance with the priority areas of the Russian economy.
At Samara University, based on the results of the selection, a laboratory "Development of Monitoring Systems and Predictive Analytics of Production Systems Using Machine Vision and Learning Technology" will be created.
Thereby, in addition to the new youth laboratory, the University has four more youth research laboratories – "Power Plant Engineering", "Photonics for Smart Home and Smart City", "Laboratory of Advanced Fundamental and Applied Space Research based on Nanosatellites" and "Laboratory of Cryogenic Technology".

During the period from 2018 to 2022, 740 new youth laboratories were created in the country as part of the national project "Science and Universities", taking into account the new selection, their number reached 940.
