On March 17, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation Dmitry Krutoy made a working visit to the Samara University.
He met with Rector Vladimir Bogatyrev, examined the exposition of the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after E.M. Primakov and talked with university students and lecturers.
Samara University for many years has cooperated with educational and scientific organizations of the Republic of Belarus, but in 2020, this work has intensified as a result of negotiations held at the Forum of Regions of Russia and Belarus in Moscow, the governor of the Samara region Dmitry Azarov and the Chief of Staff of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Petr Vityaz.
As part of academic mobility, students, scientists and lecturers from the two countries exchange knowledge and experience, taking part in conferences, symposiums, congresses and other events organized in the Samara region and the Republic of Belarus.
Thus, in April 2022, representatives of the Belarusian-Russian University took part in a Youth scientific conference held in Samara, and in October of the same year, employees of Samara University spoke at the VIII Belarusian Space Congress in Minsk.
In February 2023, the issues on the implementation of the roadmap of scientific and technical cooperation between the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the ANO "Institute of Regional Development" – the management company of the world-class REC "Engineering of the Future" were discussed at the platform of Samara University.
"There are many points of contact – both in the educational sphere and in the scientific one. Currently at Samara University more than 1,000 foreign students from more than 70 countries of the world, including the Republic of Belarus students, study here. We work closely with Belarusian universities and the National Academy of Sciences, mainly in aerospace technologies.
In 2022 , the work on a joint grant provided by RFBR (the Russian Foundation for Basic Research) and the Belarusian Foundation for Fundamental Research titled "Theoretical Foundations of Studying Wave Processes and Phenomena in the Ionosphere Using Signals of Satellite Radio Navigation Systems". It is the first joint scientific project between Russia and Belarus implemented by Samara University together with the Joint Institute for Informatics Problems under the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus", Vladimir Bogatyrev said.
As part of the visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the University, issues related to the implementation of joint network educational programs aimed at master's and postgraduate students were discussed.
"We express our interest in developing educational and scientific ties with Samara University, – Dmitry Krutoy emphasized and invited university students and lecturers to visit the Republic of Belarus. – We will exchange experiences, we will meet, learn more about each other."
