In the Samara Region, former schoolchildren who recently received their USE (Unified state Exam) results are actively looking for admission to secondary vocational and higher educational institutions and submitting documents. Those who choose to study at colleges and universities in our region this year will receive a lump sum payment of 10 thousand rubles. Governor Dmitry Azarov made the decision. This measure of support for Samara graduates was implemented for the first time last year.
The region’s head believes that this will help educate and retain young professionals in the Samara land. But it is necessary to create conditions for self-fulfillment of young people. More than 12 thousand of them received such payments last year. The share of Samara graduates who left for universities in other regions was the lowest for the last 5 years. The payment will also be made in 2023 and 2024.
Admission campaign in full swing
This year applicants to Samara University have already submitted more than 4,500 thousand applications. The quota of budgeted places for 2022 exceeds 3,200. This is a new record not only for the University, but for Samara. Applicants highly favor IT specialties, although other professions are almost as popular. Young people want to become programmers, rocket scientists, lawyers and Chinese translators.
“We are dynamic and future-oriented. The University teaches those disciplines that will be especially relevant in the next few years,” says Head of Admission Committee of Samara University Sergey Goryainov.
Application to Samara University is open until July 21. The consent for admission and the original certificate of secondary education must be at the university before 6:00 p.m., August 3.
“Last year I scored 202 points in three exams and entered the Guided Missile Systems and Astronautics program,” says Miron Kallistov, a second-year student at Samara University. “It was back then that the lump sum payments to Samara students began; for many of us, this influenced the decision to choose a university in Samara.”
