The leader of the final ranking became Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, the second place took RANEPA, closes the top three St. Petersburg University. Samara University named after Korolev ranked 49th position by experts.
"The ranking of influence is determined by the universities that have the most impact on society: enjoy the authority among young people, in academia, business community and social networks, - said Dmitriy Grishankov, General Director of RAEX, Adviser to the President of the Russian Union of Rectors. - Now the State pays more and more attention to the education of youth. Universities that are able to influence society, have more opportunities to meet such challenges".
The RAEX ranking showed that influential universities are unevenly distributed in Russia, the authors of the research note. The final list includes universities from only 20 regions, which is less than 25% of the number of subjects of the Russian Federation. At the same time, almost two thirds of universities ranked in Moscow and Saint Petersburg. There are 34 most influential universities in Moscow and 13 universities - in St. Petersburg.
Among other cities, a high concentration of influential universities is observed in Kazan and Yekaterinburg - 3 universities of each cites included in the ranking. Then follow 2 best universities of Tomsk, Samara, Tyumen, Perm, Ufa and Irkutsk. There are 10 Russian regions in the ranking by one university.

The ranking of influence of Russian universities was formed on the basis of 14 criteria, the initial data were compiled from university surveys and information from independent sources . This is the monitoring the employment of graduates of Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Wikipedia Internet Encyclopedia, the Alexa Company’s web analytics, social networks, RAEX data on the number of graduates in leadership positions at major companies in Russia, as well as data from foreign and Russian scientific sources.
