Specialists of International Office Mobility and Recruiting Department of Samara National Research University spent three weeks organizing promotional events around the cities of Kazakhstan. About a thousand of students from Almaty, Nur-Sultan, Aktobe, Karaganda, Taraz, Taldykorgan, Shymkent, Martuk, Tekeli learnt about the role of Samara and Samara University in the development of aviation and astronautics.
Mostly orientation and educational programs were carried out at schools and partner educational centres. Future students were told about research, development, achievements and the role of Samara University and Samara in the development of aviation and astronautics. Schoolchildren also got acquainted with JSC SRC "Progress" enterprise and learnt about the role of the enterprise in the formation of astronautics and the development of space technologies.
The most erudite and active students received prizes and gifts from Samara University. Along with schoolchildren, the events were also attended by the parents of future applicants, who had an opportunity to ask Samara University staff their questions about study and admission.
"It is important for us to interest teenagers primarily in engineering professions: not a large number of them are fond of physics today. But those who are ready to experiment for hours were watching and listening to us carefully", – says Head of Mobility and Recruiting Department Evgeniy Chursin. – "During this trip, we were engaged in promoting Samara University, the region, and Russian education. For the first time in the history of the university we were able to cover so many cities and participants. Kazakhstan is our old partner, a large number of citizens of this country are Samara University students".
Yevgeniy Chursin also noted that Samara University Olympiad that is planned to be held in spring will be the next stage of work with the applicants from Kazakhstan.
