On Wednesday, July 24, Samara University held a double start of summer schools, united by common ideas: the commercialization of scientific research and start-ups.
"High Technology Management" Summer School is held at Samara University for the 5th time. This is an intensive full-time research course in which students with different education will obtain knowledge and high-tech enterprises management skills. The school is organized by the Faculty of Economics and Management.
"The history of "High Technology Management" Summer School began with one group in 2015. Today the school has become very popular, especially among Chinese students, whose number in Samara University increases every year, – noted Samara University Acting Rector Vladimir Bogatyrev at the opening ceremony. – In 2019, half of the students studying at our schools are from China, the second half are students from all over the world. Chinese students pay great attention to high-tech management, they are interested in everything related to the financing of innovative projects, the creation of startups, their promotion, innovations and other similar topics. Noticing the great interest of our Chinese partner universities, we have expanded the number of summer schools. And besides schools for high-tech management and start-up projects, there will also be a school associated with robotics".
"High Technology Management" Summer School (its second stage) will last from July 24 to August 5, and "Start Up Project Management" – from July 19 to July 31. While studying at summer schools, students will get acquainted with the work of Samara University laboratories on nanosatellites, biophotonics, magnetic-pulse, additive technologies and others.
At the lectures and seminars they will also study the marketing and financing of innovations, the launch of innovative projects. The programme also includes workshops related to the launch of innovative projects and start-ups.
In addition, using the example of successful cases of high-tech projects commercialization, students will explore industrial innovation projects and visit profitable innovative companies in order to understand the basics of high-tech management and their practical implementation.
At the end of the course, the students of “High Technology Management” will have the opportunity to offer their high-tech projects on the commercialization of developments and present them to the professional jury at the final defense of the projects.
"Start Up Project Management" Summer School will immerse its students into the entire process of creating a startup – from the idea to a real business project. The Startup course includes a number of tools and methods with the help of which young people will understand how to evaluate the idea and put it into practice. The students will also get to know about the features of the Russian market and start-up projects.
Lectures, workshops, seminars on the topics of marketing, business models building, negotiating and communicating with customers will allow students to understand how to bring products to both Russian and new foreign markets.
