The task is to develop schoolchildren’s research skills in collaboration with scientists.
Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Samara University Andrey Gavrilov emphasizes: the main goal of the project is to train qualified staff who will ensure the country's transition to a new technological step in the near future.
"In the 90s and 2000s the link between schools and universities weakened. This project on supervising of the school educational process by the universities and the Academy of Sciences allows us to strengthen this connection. Together we will be able to identify capable children and, starting from school, to conduct intensive training for them, – said Andrey Gavrilov. – The Head of State sets the task of transferring the economy to digital rails, to solve the issues of engineering and technical re-equipment. It is impossible to do this without people who could act as transformers in such a process in the near future. Therefore, I hope that the leading schools, classical university education and the scientific community will be able to provide the synergistic effect that will raise the level of education in our region and in the country as a whole to a new stage".
"Having become a centre for basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Samara University will be able to more effectively attract the most talented applicants to enter it," – said Project Coordinator in the Region, Head of Samara University Student Enrollment Office Sergey Goryainov. – We have already signed agreements with the project participants and now we will be able to involve students from the strongest schools in the region into real scientific research, proving that it is possible to get a good education without leaving for the capital and abroad".
According to the Project Coordinator, the fact that Samara University has received the status of a scientific and educational centre for basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences is a merits recognition of the scientists of Samara University, where there are two academicians of the RAS and two corresponding members of the RAS, as well as international-level scientific laboratories.
