The school will be held under the aegis of UN 8 Framework Programme on development of research and technologies (Horizon2020). Samara National Research University is the only Russian university participating in this international project.
In 2019 Department of Aircraft Engine Construction and Design (DAECD) of Samara University will hold a summer school in the framework of international project ExPerTISE - Experimentally validated High Performance Computing of Turbine Mechanical Integrity and Structural Dynamics for Europe. Educational project of international consortium with the participation of Samara scholars is included in one of the directions of UN 8 Framework Programme on development of research and technologies (Horizon2020).
The corresponding confirmation prof. Sergey Phalaleev - Head of the project from Samara University - received from the initiator of ExPerTISE prof. Stefan Zucco of Politecnico di Torino (Italy). In the end of March the first meeting of the project participants took place where the schedule of the events on its realisation was discussed. In Italy Samara University was represented by a lecturer of DAECD Andrey Tisarev.
Apart from Samara University in the international project participate 8 leading universities, 3 scientific centres and such well-known firms on engines design and manufacturing as Rolls-Royce PLC (Great Britain), NEC Deutschland GmbH (Germany), Doosan Skoda Power (the Czech Republic), SNECMA (France), General Electric Deutschland Holding (Germany), Nuovo Pignone srl (Italy) and SAFRAN (France).
In the framework of ExPerTISE universities and scientific centres in 2018-2020 are organising 10 summer schools on dynamics of elements of rotor systems of gas turbine engines. Their participants will become young scholars preparing for defence of their doctoral dissertations in the universities participating in the project. The doctoral students will be able to visit schools of all universities which have distributed between themselves the topics so that to cover practically all questions of modelling and analysis of of dynamics of a rotor system of a modern engine. The format of studies presupposes training with the elements of research. In the framework of schools the representatives of partner firms will hold courses of lectures and seminars.
Samara University will devote the summer school to the investigation of peculiarities of construction and conditions of work of elements of a rotor system of a gas turbine engine as well as to modelling and experimental research of dynamic processes in a rotor system of an engine and its elements.
Financing of the project is being held in the framework of the sub-programme «Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Networks» of UN 8 Framework Programme on development of research and technologies (Horizon2020). Samara University will participate in this project on invitation of consortium of participating universities representing UN.
