The 12th International Seoul International Invention Fair, SIIF 2016, which took place 1-4 December in Seoul, Republic of Korea, is Asia’s largest international exhibition, dedicated to high-tech developments and technologies and their commercialisation.
During their business programme stay in the Republic of Korea, the Russian delegation participated in the fair’s competitive programme. The Samara National Research University thus submitted five high-tech exhibits, each of which received a fair medal, based on the competition results.
Gold medals were awarded to:
- the group of small-size spacecraft Aist and Aist-2D;
- instrument for non-invasive haemoglobin measurement.
A silver medal for:
- metal-rubber vibration insulators.
The competition awarded bronze medals for:
- nanosatellite (Samsat-218D);
- personal device for remote monitoring human cardio-respiratory system parameters.
The Samara University developers were also acknowledged with a special prize from the Taipei (Taiwan) Government.
The international jury awarded gold medals to 12 Russian developments, 11 silver medals and 18 bronze medals. The best Russian scientific developments were also recognized with 14 special memorial prizes.

Over 639 inventions were presented the fair in all fields of science and engineering from 31 countries. The major national exhibits were presented by Russia, the Republic of Korea, China, Malaysia, Thailand, Iran, Egypt, Poland and the USA.
