Samara University strengthens its positions in the Webometrics ranking

Samara Academician Korolev National Research University strengthened its positions in the international Webometrics ranking. This ranking is updated twice a year and evaluates the web-presence of research and educational centers from all over the world.

In comparison with January 2016, Samara University advanced from the 29th to the 24th place in the Webometrics ranking of Russian higher educational institutions. There were no significant changes in the higher educational institution’s position in the international part of this “Table of Ranks.” As of July 2016, Samara Academician Korolev National Research University occupies the 24th place in the Webometrics ranking as “Samara Academician Korolev State Aerospace University.”

Just as six months ago, international experts analyzed more than 24 thousand universities located all over the world to draw up the ranking. Of these, the top 12,000 higher educational institutions were selected for the ranking.

Over the past three years, Samara Academician Korolev National Research University has been consistently advancing its positions in the leading Russian and international rankings.

Thus, in 2016, Samara University advanced by more than 30 places and joined the Top 110 universities from developing countries of Europe and Central Asia in the QS University Rankings: Emerging Europe and Central Asia (QS EECA). This year, Samara University also found itself among the top higher educational institutions of BRICS countries for the third time according to the QS University Rankings: BRICS. The higher educational institution is among universities occupying places 151–200.

Samara University occupied the 26th spot in the 2016 ranking of Russian higher educational institutions by the RAEX agency (Expert Rating Agency). In 2012, the higher educational institution occupied the 35th place. At the same time, the higher educational institution was included among the Top 15 Russian universities in terms of employer demand for graduates and occupied the 18th place in terms of research activity level.
