The contest of scientific experiments will take place on November 24 within the framework of the traditional festival of Samara State Aerospace University “Alphabet of Science”. The participants will be students of secondary schools and students of Samara Region and SSAU students. The young scientists will choose ideas of the most interesting experiments that will be proposed for inclusion in the research program of the International Space Station crew.
”The idea of organization of the scientific and educational contest appeared after a meeting of the astronaut Oleg Kononenko with the students of our university, - explained Aleksandr Danilenko, the Chairman of SSAU Board of Young Scientists. - Now we collect research projects of participants of the festival “Alphabet of Science”, which can be implemented on board of the ISS. The experiments can illustrate directions of the school or educational program or can help to investigate the physical and chemical processes, material properties, geophysical phenomena, biotechnology, operation of the various mechanisms and systems. Protection and selection of the researches, which will be offered for implementation on the ISS, will be performed at the festival”.
The most interesting projects will be given to the specialists of Research and Development Centre for Astronauts Training. Oleg Kononenko is willing to implement those researches that experts will recognize significant and realizable, on board of the ISS. His trip to the International Space Station is scheduled for 2015.

Festival “Alphabet of Science” is conducted in Samara State University for the second year in a raw. Pupils of 1-8 forms of general education institutions of Samara Region, as well as their teachers and parents will become the members of this event.
Besides the contest “Space Experiment” for the ISS within the framework of the Festival will be held:
• contest of research projects and inventions of pupils;
• contest of the best essay and drawing on the topic “Earth protection from asteroids: fantastic or reality?”;
• creativity contests of pupils “Scientist – who is he?” and “Dreams on the sky” (drawings, handcrafts, poems, tales on the science and scientists, on aviation and astronautics are accepted).
