In 2014 SSAU will get 600 million roubles from the Government of Russian Federation

In 2014 Samara State Aerospace University named after academician Korolev will get 600 million roubles from the Federal Treasury within the framework of the state Program “Development of Education” 2013-2014. The corresponding decree was signed by Dmitriy Medvedev and published on the website of the Government of the Russian Federation.
Last year the amount of subsidy that SSAU received as a participant of the Program on competitive recovery of the leading Russian universities amounted to 406.4 million roubles.
Funds of state support are intended to deep modernization of scientific and educational process in SSAU. Including: introduction and creation of new educational programs of the international level; opening of modern scientific laboratories and equipping them with high-tech equipment; level rise of conducted researches and ensuring of their recognition in the international arena; attraction of talented young people (including from foreign countries) and world-renowned scientists.
It will be recalled that in 2013 SSAU became one of 15 universities - winners of the open contest for gaining state support by the leading universities in Russia in order on competitive recovery and progress in the world rankings. As a result of implementation of the Program at least five Russian universities should enter the top one hundred world's leading universities in 2020.
In 2014 the Council on competitive recovery of the leading Russian universities prepared recommendations to continue state support for 14 universities - winners on the basis of their reports. Volume of state support for these universities in 2014 will amount to 10.15 billion roubles.

For reference. In addition to progress in the world rankings, realization of the program on competitive recovery will allow SSAU to achieve several key objectives: recruit about 80 scientists of world importance, create 21 international scientific laboratories, tripling the number of foreign students. Also SSAU will create four “centres of excellence” - the main research areas of the university development, corresponding to the breakthrough world technologies.
In addition, a new SSAU campus will be built from 2018 to 2020, and it will be a platform for innovative inter-university centre, which will be grouped advanced scientific laboratories of the leading regional universities.
